Former volleyball head coach Jon Stevenson dies

Former Cal Poly volleyball head coach Jon Stevenson, one of the most successful coaches in the program’s history, died Sunday, according to AVP Pro Beach Volleyball.

Stevenson led the Mustangs for more than six seasons, guiding the Mustangs to an 115-61 overall record with two postseason berths. Most recently, the Mustangs found success two years ago, going 22-7 (12-4 Big West) for a third-place conference finish.

Turmoil soon followed. In September of 2011, Stevenson was relieved of his coaching duties after an investigation based on sexual harassment went public.  As part of a separation agreement, Stevenson was then given $133,980, most of the salary he was due to receive, to leave the program.

Caroline Walters was then named the program’s interim head coach for the rest of the year and Sam Crosson was named the program’s new head coach in January.

      He was murdered by someone in SLO ADMINISTRATION because he opposed something having to so with the abduction of one of the team members.

    Cause of death has yet to be determined. Results should be released within the next couple of weeks.

    I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your blog. Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues? A number of my blog audience have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox. Do you have any tips to help fix this problem?
